The Belarusian Research University named after Astafey Volovich is being created as a response to the challenges of the time and the needs of society. It is an initiative of Belarusian scientists and intellectuals in exile, united by the desire to preserve and develop the national academic tradition, to provide a free environment for thinking and research.
The future university will be open to all who want to study, research and teach in Belarusian, to work with Belarusian issues in a European context and to contribute to an intellectual dialogue about the future of the country. It is aimed at master’s and doctoral programs, where teaching is inextricably linked with scientific activity and social responsibility. Volovich University is conceived as a true national research university – not a division of another institution or another educational project. It will become a space where new knowledge is created, interdisciplinary research is developed and intellectual landmarks for Belarus are formed. It will be an institution with academic freedoms, a Belarusian face, and European values. It strives to become a catalyst for social change, a model of internal democracy, and an exemplary platform for broad public dialogue.
